Do you know how your money in the bank is being used?
What if your money is being used for nuclear weapons? In fact, in Japan, seven financial institutions, including megabanks, have invested and loaned approximately 5.5 trillion yen to nuclear weapons manufacturing companies.
The DBOB Campaign is one of ICAN's projects, led by the Dutch NGO PAX, to urge the world's financial institutions to stop financing nuclear weapons manufacturing companies.
We, the Association of Anti-Nuclear Doctors and Kinki Anti-Nuclear Doctors Roundtable, have been working on this campaign since 2019, and it has been successful, with many financial institutions in Japan changing their investment and loan policies and banning investments and loans to nuclear weapons manufacturing companies.
On the day of the event, we will introduce our efforts in Japan, and Susie Snyder of PAX will talk about the spread and effectiveness of the global movement.
