The Russian invasion of Ukraine, using nuclear threats as a shield, reveals the risks inherent in a security regime that relies on nuclear deterrence. At a time of heightened tension in both Europe and East Asia, nuclear experts will discuss from their respective perspectives what risks are associated with strengthening nuclear deterrence and military expansion in each region. Through this discussion, we will explore ideas for overcoming nuclear deterrence.
