Nuclear Weapons Abolition and SDGs: Local Practices
Organizations: Katawara, ANT-Hiroshima, members of the Project to Bring the Voices of Japanese Civil Society to the G7 Summit and Citizens' Summit for All 2024
We delivered policy proposals to the leaders of the G7 in 2023, through the activities of C7 (Civil7: Civil Society), together with citizens from all over the world. In the Summit host city Hiroshima we also organized the “Citizens' Summit for All”, with participation of many NPOs, NGOs, and other stakeholders. Collaboration has been expanding with the aim of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We want to share interest in the issue of nuclear weapons, and also learn new approaches from initiatives toward achieving the SDGs. How are social issues connected to our daily and local activities? How can citizens collaborate across sectors? We will consider these questions together through cases from various regions.
