Kondou was a junior high school teacher in Nagano Prefecture and currently works full-time for the Prefectural Teachers' Union. He is the secretariat of the “Connecting the Hibakushas' Wishes Project,” which interviews and records the experiences of hibakusha in Nagano Prefecture.
