Documentary Film and TV Director

Ito was born in Ehime, Japan, in 1960 and began making artistic videos in the 1990s. Ito was invited to show his work at VideoFest Berlin, the Vancouver International Film Festival, and the British Short Film Festival. In 2000, he transitioned to television, producing mainly documentaries. In 2004, Ito began covering an incident of exposure to radiation from a nuclear test in a Pacific tuna fishing ground and has since produced programs on the same theme every year. In 2022, he produced his third film, “SILENT FALLOUT” about nuclear damage in the U.S. On March 31, 2023, the Japanese version of the film was completed. The SILENT FALLOUT in English premiered at the Hampton International Film Festival and has received recognition at 28 international film festivals, including the St. Louis International Film Festival. The film continues to be screened mainly in the United States.
