A second-year student at Keio University's Faculty of Policy Studies, Toriumi has served as the chairperson of the executive committee for the 2022 Tokyo High School Student Peace Seminar and the chairperson of the executive committee for the 2024 Tokyo Student Tour for the World Conference Against Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs. Toriumi has supported the “High School Student Peace Seminar,” which was born out of the campaign against atomic and hydrogen bombs, from its founding period to the present. His books include “Learning, Talking, Hope for Living and Peaceful Future: High School Students for a 21st Century without Nuclear Weapons and Wars,” “Introduction to Constitutional Revision Issues from High School Students,” “As Bearers of Voting Rights for 18-Year-Olds: High School Students Learn about the Constitution, Okinawa, and Nuclear Disaster,” and “Political Choices for 18-Year-Olds: For Peace, Human Rights, and Democracy.
