Mr. Rauf is currently an independent nuclear weapons control expert in Vienna, Austria, and has lectured on disarmament-related issues at various international organizations, including UNITAR and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. Rauf served as Head of the Verification and Security Policy Coordination Office of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) (2002-2011) and as Alternate Head of the IAEA delegation to Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Conferences (2003-2010). He also served as Senior Advisor to the Chair of the Disarmament Committee at the 2015 Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference and as Senior Advisor to the Chair of the Plenary Session of the Preparatory Committee in 2014.
