MIKAMI Chisa
Head, United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Hiroshima Office
Born in Osaka Prefecture. Graduated from the University of Tokyo with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. Mikami began her career in international organizations in 2000 when she was sent to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Cuba as a Junior Professional Officer (JPO). Since then, she has served as HIV and AIDS Project Officer (2003-2004), Public Information and Civil Society Officer at UNDP Tokyo Office (now UNDP Representative Office in Japan) (2004-2007), Deputy Director of UNDP Guatemala (2007-2011). Mikami has served as Deputy Resident Representative in Guyana (2011-2015), Deputy Resident Representative in Barbados and Eastern Caribbean (2015-2018) and Acting Resident Representative (2018-2019), and Deputy Resident Representative in Equatorial Guinea (2019-2022).
