Mr Kawasaki is Executive Committee Member of Peace Boat and International Steering Group Member and President of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). He also serves as Co-Chair of Japan NGO Network for Nuclear Weapons Abolition. He lectures at Rikkyo University, Tokyo. He was awarded the 33rd Kiyoshi Tanimoto Peace Prize by Hiroshima Peace Center in 2021.
